— Mining giant BHP has cut its fiscal 2017-2018 (July-June) iron ore production guidance due to unplanned maintenance and issues with car dumper availability, the company said Thursday.

Civmec was awarded a contract for the supply, fabrication and assembly of the largest iron ore rail car dumper ever built in Australia.

 — The rail car dumper's purpose is to receive and unload iron ore railway wagons which pass through the central U-shaped cage two at a time. The rail car unloader was fabricated to special welding standards for high fatigue structures, requiring special techniques and procedures to be developed specifically for the project.
