 — It's possible you may have a Hurst handle grafted onto a Muncie shifter. The Muncie shifters would get so loose that you either needed a new shifter or a wider car. Hurst parts are available to fix it, if that is what you have.

 — Even less exciting are the levers Chevy used on Muncie 4-speeds with Muncie shifters. There must be a dozen part numbers, every application seems different. Our '67 Z/28 had the usual Hurst and I found a complete Muncie shifter but no levers. Had to make the Hurst levers work.

 — I scanned some of the threads and couldn't find a similar problem. I have a 67 with Muncie 4 speed w/hurst shifter. I'm having difficulty getting into second gear especially during down shifting. Feels like its going in but gears will grind upon letting out the cluch. I'll apply more down pressure on the shifter and then second gear will engage.

 — Not sure if this will help you, but the attached scan is from an original Hurst Competition Plus shifter for a 1965 or 1966 Nova with a 4-speed Muncie transmission. The part numbers are listed under "Contents of Kit".
